The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous monuments in the whole world and a symbol of the French capital. It was built on the occasion of the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889. It is named after the author of the project - the engineer Gustave Eiffel. The idea was revolutionary for its time - it was used for the first time.
The tower is 324 m high and consists of three levels. In the period 1889-1930 it was the tallest building in the world. There are restaurants, bars and observation points on the three floors. it is worth visiting each one of them, because they offer different views and perspectives towards the city. Below it is spread the greenery of the Field of Mars - a former military site that has been transformed into a beautiful park. The Eiffel Tower attracts about 7,000,000 tourists a year, making it the most visited landmark in Paris.
