
Wengen is the largest village in the municipality of Leuterbrunnen, located at an altitude of 1274 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The ascent starts from Lauterbrunnen (784 m) and reaches Wengen (1274 m). Wengen is a typical alpine village with colorful resorts picturesquely placed on the slopes of the mountain. The permanent population is 1,300 inhabitants, and in the winter season it reaches 10,000 inhabitants. The movement of motor vehicles is prohibited in Vo Wengen. Only small electric cars transport hotel guests from the village to the hotel.
