La Finca Vihia is a house-museum where the American writer Ernest Hemingway lived. The villa is located 15 km. from the capital city of Havana. Hemingway lived in the villa for 20 years. He left it in 1960, when he returned to America he was tired and depressed. In his honor, the villa has been turned into a museum and has been untouched since his departure. Visitors are not allowed in the villa itself, but there are enough open windows and doors to peer into the writer's life. Objects from the time when Hemingway lived can be seen in the house: books, glasses, stuffed animals, an old gramophone and gramophone records.
