Majorelle is a botanical garden in Marrakech that covers an area of 2.5 acres. It was created by the French oriental artist Jacques Majorelle, it was started in 1923 and was built for almost 40 years. The cubic villa was added a little later. During its existence, the garden was sold to fashion designers Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge, who worked on its restoration. Today the villa (Museum of the Berbers) and the garden are open to visitors, where they can see the works of Majorelle. The garden is annually visited by more than 700,000 tourists.
