The Government Palace, known as "Casa Rosada" ("Pink House") because of the color of the facade, is located at one end of Avenida de Mayo. "Pink House" dates back to the time of the first Spanish settlers, who painted the building with paint mixed with blood, so that the building would not collapse from moisture. The building is the office of the President of Argentina. The Government Palace is also a museum that contains objects related to the former presidents of the country. "Casa Rosada" is one of the important cultural and historical buildings in the capital city.
