The Mirabel Palace was built at the beginning of the 18th century by order of the Archbishop of Salzburg, Wolf Dietrich von Reitenau. The architect of the building is Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. In 1818, the palace complex was partially destroyed due to a serious fire in the city. After the renovation, with the participation of local architects and actors, the former splendor of the palace was restored. In translation, the name of the palace means "wonderfully beautiful" and it really impresses with its facade and rooms, carefully maintained gardens, in which numerous statues and mythological heroes and historical figures are located.
