Карлов мост

Прага, Чешка

Charles Bridge is one of the main sights of Prague. The bridge connects the old settlements of Mala Strana and Stare Mesto. It was built in 1357 on the site of an older bridge destroyed by a flood. Towers rose from its two sides. The tower on the side of the Old Town is often designated as one of the most amazing buildings in the city. The bridge is 520 m long and 9.5 m wide. It is built on 16 arches arranged with sand blocks. On the bridge there are 30 sculptures of saints, erected at the beginning of the 18th century.
