Кастелсардо

Сардинија, Италија

The town of Castelsardo is located in the northwestern part of the island of Sardinia. It is inhabited by about 5,900 inhabitants. Archaeological studies prove that the area was inhabited even before the time of the ruins. The Nuragics, as well as the Romans, also left their mark on these places. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, a monastery of "Nostra Signora di Tergu" was founded near today's city. Subsequently, Castelsardo grew around a castle built by the Italian Doria family of Genoa in 1102.

The main attractions are the rock of Slonot, the megalithic rocks from the time of the Nuragics and the castle of the Doria family.
