The Cathedral "St. Peter" in Geneva is one of the main attractions of Geneva. The foundations of the church were laid in 1160 and construction continued for 150 years. Started in the Romanesque style, the church later acquired Gothic elements and then neoclassical ones. Thus, over the years, after many restorations, it combines most of the European architectural styles.
The church was primarily a cathedral of the Genevan bishops, but with the spread of the Reformation, from 1535 it acquired the status of the main church in the city.
