Mamojada is a small, authentic village located in the mountainous region of Central Sardinia, in the province of Barbagia. The surroundings are filled with untouched natural beauty, such as mountain streams, springs, spacious pastures and rocky slopes. The ancient history of the village can be traced in the rock sanctuaries preserved nearby. The steep cliffs are interspersed with dwellings and tombs carved into them. The village of Mamoyada is also special with the annual festival in honor of St. Antonio, which takes place on January 17. This holiday is very similar to the Bulgarian tradition of kukeri - mask games, celebration in the square, which ends with a high bonfire and sharing of aromatic wine and homemade sweets are organized.
