The Korer Museum offers a curious collection that presents the art and history of Venice. It was founded in 1830, when Theodore Korer donated his collection to the city of Venice. The museum has been continuously expanded thanks to gifts, donations and acquisitions, which are based on the rich and varied works of the Venetian Public Museum. The museum is built in a neoclassical style. The first hall is the "Napoleon Wing", where the dissolution of the republic in 1797 is presented, the Venetian Royal Palace of the French and the Royals of Italy (1886). In the other halls, different moments of Venetian civilization and ancient art are shown.
