Палатинскиот рид

Рим, Италија

The Palatine Hill has been known since the founding of Rome. The legend says that Romulus and Remus were actually found on this hill and saved from the she-wolf. The Palatine was the seat of a number of Roman emperors and they built their residences on top of the hill. Today, the entire area is covered with the ruins of various buildings. In the southern part, the palace of Seprimius Severus once stood, and the emperor's baths were located next to it. North of it, the remains of a stadium can be clearly seen, for which it is not known whether it was public or private.

In 2008, August's house was opened to visitors. Here you can see wonderful frescoes, which after 2000 years are still colorful and strong.
