In the very heart of Munich is the most beautiful square in the city, named after the Mother of God. It stretches in the center of the pedestrian area and is one of the main sights of the city, next to it are located some of the most significant buildings in the Bavarian capital - the new and the old municipality, and in the middle of "Marienplatz" rises a beautiful column of Mary. And in close proximity to the square are the cathedral church "Frauenkirche" and the church "St. Peter" - the oldest in Munich.
