Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a city in the Alpes-Maritimes region of the Côte d'Azur. One of the best-preserved medieval towns on the French Riviera, it is known for its many museums and galleries of modern and contemporary art. The town has always been popular, mostly because of the Hotel La Colombe d'Or, where Jean-Paul Sartre and Pablo Picasso stayed. In the 60s, the town was often visited by the French actors Yves Montand, Simon, Signore, Lino Ventura and the poet Jacques Prwer.
