Споменик на ''Кристофер Колумбо''

Барселона, Шпанија

The monument to Columbus was built on the occasion of the World Exhibition in 1888. The 60 m high column was erected at the place where the great discoverer left in 1493 at the end of his expedition. The statue of Colombo itself is 7 m high. Its pointer is directed towards the sea - as a symbol of the significance it had for the development of Barcelona. The top of the monument can be reached by a small lift, and from the top there will be an impressive view of the city and the port. The monument rises in the eastern part of Rambla, on the picturesque coastal boulevard, decorated with palm trees and local restaurants. The Maritime Museum is located near the monument.
