The most preserved part of the walls of Thessaloniki is located high up in the old part of the city. From the panoramic site of the Eptapyrgio fortress, a wonderful view of Thessaloniki and the Thermic Bay opens.
The greek name of the fortress means "seven towers", but there are actually ten. Some of them probably date from 4th century, but the rest were biult likely in the 12th century.
