Fossil stones represent rock formations that are located 18 km. west of Varna. They are located in 18 large and small groups on an area of 7 square kilometers. This natural phenomenon has no analogue in Eastern Europe. Around the limestone columns, with a length of 5-7 m and a thickness of up to 3 m, a naturally formed desert was formed, which is home to very rare types of cacti, mountain rose, acacia and others. There are many hypotheses about the ancestry, but it is believed to date back to 50 million years ago.
