The colorful clock was created in 1955 to remind locals and tourists alike that Geneva is the birthplace of Switzerland's satin industry. It is no coincidence that its maintenance over the years has been financed by the Swiss Watch Manufacturers Association. The satin mechanism (created by a Neuchatel watchmaker) features the world's longest second hand. Its size is 2.50 meters. The length of the whole circle of the colored clock is about 16 m, and the diameter - about 5 meters. More than 6,500 flowers are used to decorate the watch from each season.
